Ilana  has been teaching Pilates for 13 years. A former pro figure skater, coach, and trained dancer who attended circus school, she brings a unique and creative approach to Pilates. Ilana launched the successful Güd Belly Pilates in 2003. Previously, she taught Pilates at the Beverly Hills Country Club and at several San Francisco locations. Ilana enjoys working on the fundamental movements that make life easier to live, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t given a rock star or two a kick-@!$ workout.

As a figure skater, Ilana was trained in Maryland and at the Lake Placid Olympic Center, where she later coached. She also taught skating at the Oakland Ice Center alongside Brian Boitano, founder of the Youth Skate program for which Ilana volunteered. She has performed with the San Francisco Ice Dance Company.

Also a published writer, Ilana’s related articles include “Pilates-Based Work and Skating” and “Ballet and Skating” for Skater’s Edge magazine; and “Travel Like a Trainer and Dietitian” for www.shapeyou.com.

Ilana holds a B.A. in Theater & Dance from Hampshire College; Pilates certifications from ITT Pilates and The Physicalmind Institute, and certificates from Power Pilates (Pregnancy, Post-Natal Training) and Polestar. Ilana lives in Hollywood with her husband, daughter and porky cat. She loves punk rock.
